Dear NotreDamians,

We would like to inform you of the sad news of Rev. Fr. Thomas McDermott’s passing. Rest In Peace Rev. Fr. Thomas McDermott – our heartfelt condolences to the family.

Rev. Fr. Thomas McDermott represented Notre Dame University of Bangladesh in BNDANA’s first global convention in 2023 (New York). He delivered an inspiring speech at the convention.

Following our request, he gladly carried all the copies of the convention souvenir printed in Dhaka in his luggage. We will remain ever grateful to Fr. McDermott for his support of Notre Dame alumni around the world. He will be greatly missed.

Rev. Fr. McDermott was the Director of the Notre Dame University of Bangladesh Language Center in Bangladesh.

We are also deeply saddened by the news of Shafin Ahmed’s untimely passing. Inna Lillahe Wa Inna Ilaihe Rajeun. The legendary singer NotreDamian Shafin Ahmed (NDC 1978), will be remembered for many years ahead for his immense contributions.
